Networking & Cabling:

Universal Cabling   Wide Area Networks (WAN)  Surge Protection

ETHERNET, structured cabling for Local Area Networks (LAN) has become the most popular way of linking P.C’s, Printers and other I.T equipment in an office, so that each device can communicate with another.

K&M Consulting has developed a cabling division to deal with this specialised area of computing, and this has meant that we are able to offer the following:

A Local Area Network (LAN) is a network which is usually confined to a 2 Kilometer radius. Most LAN's today still consist of UTP copper cable running at 10 mega bits per second or 100 mega bits per second, but the future will see a greater use of both Fibre Optics and 1 Giga Hertz copper cable. Networks larger than these are usually refered to as Wide Area Networks (WAN).

K&M Consulting is a registered installer with both Alcatel and Krone structured cabling manufacturers. This recognition has meant that we are able to supply a 15 Year Manufacturers Backed Guarantee on all cable links. A link is the cable from the Patch-Pannel in the Cabinet, to the Wall Outlet. All other components carry a 2 Year guarantee.

K&M Consulting strives to make all Links as discreet and where possible invisible to the eye, trying to avoid cables being in the way of people and being an eyesore.

K&M Consulting also offers communication solutions on Wide Area Networks (WAN) using dedicated lines such as ISDN, ADSL and Diginet, for both Voice and Data depending on the application.

K&M Consulting also offers various other forms of networking; these include Fibre Optic, Radio Ethernet, BNC Coaxial, Twin-Ax and RS-232.

K&M Consulting also offers the installation and management of various networking environments, these include: Windows 3.11, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Novel.
